LION filed a Public Information Act request with Van Alstyne ISD for a simple export of the district’s school library catalog. The district demanded $75 to produce the export, which LION contends is in violation of Texas Public Information Act requirements for electronically maintained records.
LION filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General. A separate review of Van Alstyne ISD’s English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) curriculum is in progress.
