What’s on the shelf at your kid’s school?

Every Texas district keeps a library catalog. It is a public record, and no district publishes it as a list you can read. We obtain it from the district itself, campus by campus — then index what comes back by title, author, and content topic, with every entry cited to the record it came from.

The map is the whole state at a glance. Your district, your campus, the title list itself, and the request that obtained it are in the dashboard.

What is LION?

Neighborhood watch groups taught Texas to pay attention — but posts scroll away and screenshots lose their sources. LION is the next generation of that work. Five things:

For-profit public-records analytics firm. Independent, founder-led, Texas-based. Paid to be accurate, not loud.

Cited to source, every published record. We authenticate the source a record comes from — we never referee opinions.

Obtained by the book. Every catalog comes from the district itself, campus by campus — and the original records are preserved before anything is derived from them.

No ads, ever. Funded by the communities and clients we serve — never by ads, political money, or selling data.

The school-library catalog. 1,406,596 distinct titles across 347 districts, indexed by campus and content topic, every entry cited to the record it came from. Membership — from $1 a week — opens all of it.

Heat map

The ISD heat map. Every Texas district, shaded by content topic — how many titles on its shelves carry each tag, from the records LION holds so far.

Follow your government bodies. Follow up to three — each one’s records-request status, dated, on your home screen as it moves.

Signing in is free and takes one email. We email you a one-time code; enter it and you’re in — no password, no card, no cost. An account is what lets you follow the government bodies you care about.
