On June 16, 2026, Whitesboro Independent School District (WBISD) produced curriculum records responsive to WBISD-PIA-001. The District’s Public Communications contact forwarded the production at 12:03 p.m. Central. Later the same day, LION asked the District to confirm in writing whether the production is complete.
WBISD-PIA-001 is LION’s June 1 public information request under the Texas Public Information Act (Texas Government Code Chapter 552). Item 2 enumerated three categories of records — approved reading lists, supplemental materials lists, and English/Language Arts curriculum book lists used by teachers — for 2025-26. LION’s June 9 follow-up identified two of those categories as unaddressed in the District’s June 8 response.
The June 16 production is a Google Document titled “LION Request” and five linked sub-documents:
- ELA Book List — Vertical Alignment Document listing mentor texts and novels by grade, 3rd through 12th
- Purple Form — Curriculum & Funds Purchase Requisition Form template
- 2024-2025 Approved ELAR — primary curriculum and supplemental resources, prior year
- 2025-2026 Approved ELAR — primary curriculum and supplemental resources, current year
- Additional Approved Novels — spreadsheet listing five novels for grades 3 through 5
The Document references two further items as “Attached in Email” — a “Catalog Export” responsive to PIA-001 Item 1 (the native library-management-system catalog export), and a “Bluebonnet K-5 Approved Trade Book List” responsive to PIA-001 Item 2(a). Neither attachment appears on the email LION received.
LION’s reply asks the District to confirm in writing whether the materials produced today constitute the complete production responsive to WBISD-PIA-001 and to re-send the two files referenced as attached.
